The Corner Shop |
Harry’s Shave, the leader in reasonably priced high-end men’s grooming products, announced today Oct. 28 the opening of the brand’s first offline space, The Corner Shop barbershop. Harry’s Shave, launched in March by Warby Parker co-founder Jeff Raider and his business partner Andy Katz-Mayfield, aimed to bring men a luxe grooming experience sans the luxe price tag and apparently succeeded.
The brand experienced rave reviews for their men’s grooming products and saw a rapid sellout of product in March. Six months later, Harry’s dropped its first Fall-Winter Lookbook and FW 2013 product line. Today’s announcement is a lovely indication of the brand’s rapid success. With that said, what can one expect when visiting The Corner Shop? Comfortable convenience.
Jeff and Andy seemed to have thought of everything when it comes to combining convenience, affordability, and top-notch services for guys. Customers can conveniently book appointments through a calendar system at the Harry’s website. During the visit, barbers will utilize iPads to create and update digital customer profiles that include notes and headshots to provide customers with individualized services each time they return. With shaves at just $30 and haircuts at $35, the company aims to keep its pricing in line with the Harry Shave philosophy of offering exceptional products at a fair price.
At just over 300 square feet, The Corner Shop is designed to be a neighborhood destination. The space itself takes references from traditional barbershops, updated with modern elements including refurbished Koken barber chairs from the 1920s, the brands signature H’ logo tiled on the floor and simple ashwood shelves displaying merchandise. The merchandise stocked upon those lovely ashwood shelves will be, of course, Harry’s shaving products, along with other items that will appeal to the discerning gentleman. The Corner Shop is located at 64 MacDougal Street in Soho and will open to the public, tomorrow, Oct. 29.
