Hello beautynistas! Hourglass Cosmetics showed up on The Makeup Examiner’s radar last June with my introduction to Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation and the following month I was wowed again with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder and Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick. Now, Hourglass has introduced Ambient Lighting Blush!
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush is available in six shades:
- Radiant Magenta - A golden fuchsia blush combined with Radiant Light for a summer glow.
- Mood Exposure - A soft plum blush fused with Mood Light to brighten the complexion.
- Diffused Heat - A vibrant poppy blush combined with Diffused Light for a subtle halo effect.
- Ethereal Glow - A cool pink blush fused with Ethereal Light for a moonlit luminosity.
- Dim Infusion - A subdued coral blush fused with Dim Light to add warmth.
- Luminous Flush - A champagne rose blush fused with Luminous Light to evoke a candlelit glimmer.
If you’re unfamiliar with Hourglass Cosmetics, let’s review a few things about the brand. Hourglass Cosmetics are free of parabens, talc, fragrance, nanoparticles and gluten. Plus No Animal Testing! Always a great start with any beauty brand. But, does Ambient Lighting Blush ($35) do anything special?
To start, the science behind these blushes is rather interesting. Each begins with a base of Ambient Lighting Powder, which is swirled together to create a blush that delivers a really beautiful touch of color. Yes, Ambient Lighting Blush offers buildable coverage. But for me, I like a healthy kiss of barely-the-there color.
So Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush gets a big plus for versatility. Unfortunately, sometimes there is a downside to the best of brands. I really disliked the consistency of the blush. It’s almost chalky and that is not something that I, personally, can deal with. If you can get passed the consistency, then Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush is worth a try. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush is available at Hourglass Cosmetics and select retail locations.
