Television’s best gathered at the Nokia Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles on August 25th for the 66th Primetime Emmys and TME has the inside scoop on how to create Sofia Vergara’s red hot look, starting with the step-by-step hair tutorial for her shiny straight style followed by the breakdown to achieve her easy, breezy, beautiful makeup.

First, Head & Shoulders got the scoop on how to achieve her smooth blow out with a center part from Sofia’s stylist, celeb hair guru Kylee Heath. Follow Kylee’s step-by-step instructions below and you’ll be ready to make your red carpet debut!

1. Start with Head & Shoulders Smooth & Silky for a flake-free part and 24-hour frizz control
2. Create a straight center part on damp hair
3. Blow dry the top front section, away from your face, with a boar bristle round brush. Roll the section under itself and pin into place to cool
4. Blow dry the rest of your hair in two square inch sections and pin each section in place then wait for all sections to cool. Once cool, take out each section and brush it
5. With a 1 ½ inch curling iron, add a slight bend to the shorter front layers
6. Finish by spraying with light hairspray for extra hold

Next, Sofia’s makeup artist complemented her Art Deco style with a retro lip and a fresh modern eye. With the white and silver dress, white diamonds and simple hair, the makeup called for a pop of color. See the breakdown below of Sofia’s glamorous look.

Face: I used a shorthaired buffing foundation brush to really buff the foundation, truBLEND Liquid Foundation in Classic Tan D-4, into the skin.  I then used a touch of bronzer (Clean Glow Bronzer in Spices) on the forehead, cheekbones and down the bridge of the nose. I added a pop of blush, Clean Glow Blush in Peaches, on the apples of the cheeks to give the look some warmth.

Eyes: I avoided any liner and kept the eyes simple by applying Queen Collection Shadow Pot in Dazzle in a cat eye shape. I applied two coats of Clump Crusher by LashBlast Mascara on both the top and the bottom, which gave the eyes more structure without looking too heavy.

Lips: The focus was really about the lip, so I needed a long lasting lip product that would last all night through the red carpet, award show AND parties. I didn't want the lip to look too dry so I chose Outlast AllDay Lipcolor in Ever-Reddy as it is super pigmented and would give that punch of color while still looking like a shiny candy apple! I lined the lip with a matching pencil, LipPerfection Lipliner in Passion.

Sofia Vergara makes it a family affair for Head & Shoulders

Officially announced today Nov. 6, Head & Shoulders is keeping it in the family with their newest Spokesmodel Sofia Vergara along with members of the Vergara family. The 41-year-old “Modern Family” star and several of her real-life family members will appear in a national ad campaign for the hair care line that will launch in 2014.

Despite huge Head & Shoulders campaigns with the likes of MLB pitcher C.J. Wilson, such as the “Season of the Whiff,” and being the official shampoo of MLB, Sofia Vergara is showing consumers that Head & Shoulders isn’t just for the guys. Apparently Head & Shoulders has been part of Sofia’s beauty regimen for over 20 years. Sofia said in a statement, “I am excited to be joining a new family. Head & Shoulders has been a part of my hair care regime and my family’s since I was young. In fact we joke that 8 out of 9 Vergaras use it; AND there are a LOT of us.”

In addition to promoting Head & Shoulders, Sofia Vergara has been the face of another P&G brand … CoverGirl, since 2012. The addition of Head & Shoulders Brand Ambassador added to the actress’ extensive endorsement portfolio is proof that we can’t get enough of the stunning Colombian beauty.
