Reese Witherspoon Gets An Adir A-do for ‘Inherent Vice’ Premiere

Celebrity hairstylist (and TME Favorite) Adir Abergel for L’Oreal Paris created Reese Witherspoon’s 1960’s inspired hair look at the Dec. 10 premiere of “Inherent Vice.” The 38-year-old Academy Award winner, who is expected to receive another Oscar nod for her current role in biopic “Wild,” attended the film's Los Angeles premiere.

The blonde beauty looked lovely on Wednesday evening in a pink shift dress with a matching bubble gum lip and vintage-inspired ponytail! “I wanted to create a modern style that had beautiful clean lines with a 60’s twist,” said Adir.

Reese Witherspoon – Get The Look:

STEP 1: Start by applying L’Oreal Paris Advanced Hairstyle SLEEK IT Frizz Vanisher Cream from roots to end to create a beautiful smooth foundation.
STEP 2: Next, apply L’Oreal Paris Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT Volume Inject Mousse on the roots to create a lot of volume right at the root
STEP 3: Create a deep side part and blow-dry the hair with a medium round brush
STEP 4: Once hair is dry, separate hair into two-inch sections, going away from the face and wrap the sections in Velcro rollers
STEP 5: Spray the entire head with L’Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray Extra Strong Hold and let it cool down
STEP 5: Remove all the Velcro rollers and brush hair with a paddle brush to create a beautiful smooth finish
STEP 6: After hair is brushed out, backcomb the crown of the head to give it that great 60’s vibe with a touch of height - a nod to Brigitte Bardot
STEP 7: Pull the hair into a low ponytail, making sure that all the height stays at the crown
STEP 8: Wrap the ponytail with a white elastic band for contrast
STEP 9: Finish the look by applying L’Oreal Paris Advanced Hairstyle SLEEK IT Strand-Smoother Serum Spray for a high gloss finish

Kristen Stewart Gets An Adir A-Do For The 2014 HFAs

Celebrity Hairstylist Adir Abergel created the Red Carpet look for Kristen Stewart on Friday, Nov. 14 for the 2014 Hollywood Film Awards (HFAs) held at the Hollywood Palladium. The 24-year-old actress attended the show in support of her movie “Still Alice,” which will be hitting theaters in limited release on December 5.

Stunning on the Red Carpet -- in a Chanel white strapless dress with silver trim and a chain mesh sleeveless turtleneck crop on top, that Kristen paired with the perfect Casadei stilettos. Despite a slightly unfortunate wardrobe malfunction (as if any awards event is interesting without one) Kristen looked sexy, chic and badass.

While the dress was indeed stunning, it was Kristen’s rockabilly pompadour that pulled the look from ordinary to extraordinary and none other than one of Team TME’s favorite stylists could have pulled the look together -- Adir Abergel! And being the sweetie that he is, Adir shared his how-to with TME readers!

“I was inspired by the stunning white and silver dress Kristen wore which had a high collar. To elongate the lines I created an edgy slicked back rockabilly style that was modern and chic,” shared Adir.

Get The Look:
  • First, I first started by parting the hair on both sides of the temples and the back section of head. I brushed them down and tight against the scalp to give it a more severe effect. I used Moroccan Oil Styling Gel to slick down the sides and back of the hair.
  •  I then applied Leonor Greyl Mousse Au Lotus Volumatrice on roots to the top section of hair. This creates a perfect foundation and gave me the volume at the crown I was looking to achieve.
  • I blow-dried the hair with a diffuser to create movement and volume.  Once the hair was completely dry, I teased the root and smoothed the front with a Mason Pearson Brush for a pompadour effect.
  • For the final step I applied some Magic Move Soft Styling Paste with my fingers to break down the texture and give it a sexy finish. I locked in the look with Rene Furterer Vegetal Finishing Spray.

Nicola Peltz Gets Another Adir A-Do For Tokyo ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ Premiere

Walking the Red Carpet for the July 28 Tokyo premiere of “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” Nicola Peltz was stunning for top to toe. Wearing a gown by Prada, in the most gorgeous hue of orange, Nicola kept her accessories to a minimum with a simple pair of earrings and Charlotte Olympiagolden sandals. Her hair? Done by none another then Celebrity Hair Stylist Adir Abergel!

Adir Abergel created a graphic off the shoulder style for Nicola, inspired by the lines and movement of her brightly hued orange gown. Adir accentuated the look with a deep-sided part perfectly in balance with the architecture of the dress.

Adir’s tips to achieve this style:

Step 1: When I start a sleek look like this you want the texture of the hair to look shiny, healthy and reflective. Start by using Leonor Greyl Shampooing Reviviscence and Rene Furterer Karite hair mask. This will help moisturize the follicles and bring out the shine.

Step 2: Once your hair is towel dried apply some KMS California De Frizz oil and create you deep parting. The secret to this parting is going back at a diagonal rather than a straight line. This will create a beautiful angle to this style. Make sure the parting is severe to give it the edge.

Step 3: Now I started to dry the hair with my hands making sure to not change the parting until the hair was 100% dry. Once it was dry I was finally ready for my FHI flatiron.  I took small sections and flat ironed the hair and created a very sleek shiny texture to hair.

Step 4: After all the hair is smooth and sleek the trick is to take both the front sections of the hair, making sure the deep side part is very clean and smooth and pull it into a very low ponytail at the nape. This is the trick. Having the front of the hair stay tight off the face will make this look modern.

Step 5: Once you've secured that very low ponytail let the rest of the hair from the crown back fall over the ponytail section.  No one will ever see that ponytail, but make sure that it’s at the lowest part of your neck when securing.

Step 6: Finish this look with two easy last steps … first one is by spraying Fekkai sheer hold hairspray on a toothbrush and then brushing down the flyways and getting your hairline looking perfect. The second is spraying a little Moroccan oil spray to finish the look and you're ready to go.

Nicola Peltz Gets an Adir A-Do For HK ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction Premiere’

Adir Abergel (Celebrity Hair Stylist and Hair God) has been traveling with the “Transformers: Age of Extinction” troop, ensuring that Nicola Peltz has been stunningly coiffed. But, the June 18 premiere in Hong Kong presented quite the challenge with temps at around 91 degrees and humidity hovering at around 70 percent. Of course our illustrious Adir knew just what to do and with summer here, we can all take a cue for humidity proof hair!

Gorgeous Nicola, who plays Tessa Yeager in the “Transformers: Age Of Extinction” movie, was dressed in a stunning ice-blue gown by Prada. The sexy halter-neck featured a cutout panel from the bust to the waistline with glittering beading detail prompting Adir’s hairspiration. So, are you ready for the best tips for humidity proof hair?

Inspiration for Nicola’s Look: A modern and elegant look with beautiful clean sleek lines.

How To From Adir:

  1. Condition hair with Leonor Greyl Masque Orchidee to create a foundation to combat the humidity.
  2. While the hair is still damp, seal the ends with Moroccan Oil Treatment and apply Leonor Greyl Styling Mouse from the roots to mid length for body.
  3. Part the hair in a deep side part and blow-dry smooth with an Ibiza round brush. Follow this by wrapping each section in Velcro rollers to create a soft shape.
  4. Allow the rollers to set and spray KMS California Dry Xtreme Hairspray all around the head to lock in shape and add sheen.
  5. Remove the rollers and create soft smooth waves by brushing them out with the Sonia Kashk paddle brush.
  6. Tuck one side behind her ear and allow the other side to flow loosely back.
  7. Finish with Oribe Imperméable Anti-Humidity Spray to shield the hair from frizz.

Shu Uemura Art of Hair Detail Master and Texture Wave Product Review

Two amazing products from Shu Uemura Art of Hair were recently launched, Detail Master Directional Fixing Spray and Texture Wave Dry Finishing Spray, which may just help to solve bad hair days and up our hair game this summer.

There’s a reason why a lot of women can’t master super-sleek or undone runway hair, and it doesn’t have anything to do with our styling skill or how much we look like a model. It does, however, have everything to do with the products and stylers that we use. The Makeup Examiner has naturally curly hair, which is both a blessing and a curse, but offers me the opportunity to really road test the performance of hair products.

Shu Uemura Detail Master Directional Fixing Spray ($38), debuted this month, provides high-shine hold for a super-sleek low ponytail (a look that was all over the runways for this season). Packaged as a non-aerosol spray, Detail Master allows directional diffusion for precision styling that resists humidity. The Makeup Examiner found this spray to offer amazing hold and shine when I opted go to for straighter styles.

Detail Master Directional Fixing Spray primary inspiration: Mr. Shu Uemura, who had a mastery of technique so profound that his artistry often appeared effortless. Its secondary inspiration: wooden pavilion architecture - an art form renowned for its purity of line, precision, and flexible response to nature. “It’s a lie that tools do not matter if you have a technique.” ~Mr. Shu Uemura

Detail Master Directional Fixing Spray Benefits:

  • Sleek shine with brushable hold
  • Long-lasting control and humidity resistance
  • Zone-focused control of details such as partings, curls, wisps
  • Non-aerosol that allows workability but has fast drying time
  • Versatile enough to be incorporated into any look that calls for a sleek or smooth effect: ponytails, knots, precision parts, and side-swept looks
  • High shine look adaptable to men’s styling

Regarding the oh-so-sexy undone look, few effects are harder to create, unless you can call Adir Abergel (Master of the Undone Look) to come over and give you an Adir A-Do. As many will attest to, achieving that sexy, tousled look can take some serious work. More often then not, TME opts not to fight the humid Northeastern summer weather and goes for beachy waves … okay … admittedly there are days (daze) when I’m simply too lazy to deal. I found Texture Wave enhanced my naturally curly hair and offered control when I opted to decrease the mega-curl and go for my all-time favorite summer look … beachy waves.

Shu Uemura Texture Wave Dry Finishing Spray ($38) with a mono-diffusion spray that allows targeted application at roots or ends, Texture Wave uses micronized mineral powders to build a flexible, non-sticky texture that actually enhances hair health and softness. Texture Wave Dry Finishing Spray inspiration: the movements of ocean waves, which remain continually in flux, yet never lose their power or beauty. “The wave is also a symbol of the delicately changing beauty of a woman.” ~Mr. Shu Uemura

Texture Wave Dry Finishing Spray Benefits:

    • Buildable texture without a hint of stickiness or visible residue
    • Long-lasting, flexible hold
    • Shape memory that retains volume for a full 24 hours
    • Versatile enough to be incorporated in almost any “undone” look from braids to up-dos to ponytails
    • Soft shine, natural finish adaptable to men’s styling

While TME liked both products, Texture Wave is a Seasonal Beauty must-have! Shu Uemura Detail Master and Texture Wave are available for purchase online at Shu Uemura and at Shu Uemura Art of Hair Consultant Salonslocations. Check out Shu Uemura on Facebook and Twitter!

Met Ball Beautiful with Hair by Adir Abergel

The Met Gala took place Monday, May 5th at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. And, as always, the stars were shining brightly for this annual fundraiser. The Met Ball served as an opening celebration for The Met’s annual fashion exhibit, which features designer Charles James in a new show titled “Beyond Fashion”. In a TME exclusive, Adir Abergel, whose name is absolutely synonymous with Red Carpet Glam, shares the how-tos for Anne Hathaway, Kristen Stewart and Maggie Q!

Anne Hathaway - Inspiration: “With her Calvin Klein dress, it had great long lines, so I knew I wanted to continue with that and do a hairstyle that would emphasize and elongate her gorgeous neckline. We decided because her hair has grown in with a little more length that we should do a faux up-do,” shared Adir.

HOW TO: Anne had just washed her hair before I arrived so starting on damp hair, I set in a deep side part and sprayed Suave Volumizing Root Boost Spray and started to rough-dry just using my hands. I wanted to use my hands to get a really nice texture in her hair. Once the hair was dried, I sprayed a little Suave Touchable Finish Lightweight Spray to add texture and separation so it wasn't so sleek. The look we wanted was a faux updo, I started the styling by Spraying a little Suave Moroccan Infusion weightless dry shampoo and back combing the crown give great lift on top. To start the back I twisted the back of her hair into a tight twist and then used hairpins to secure it into place. Once the back was into the twist I sprayed more of the Suave Lightweight Hairspray for hold. I Finish Anne's faux updo and I left her fringe down and swept to the side with added texture.  The side swept bang gave it the softness and a more angled look I was looking for.

Kristen Stewart – Inspiration: “After seeing the Chanel dress, I knew immediately I wanted to do a braid with knots in the back but with a great 40's inspired wave in the front.  Because her hair is colored and a little damaged, I wanted to make sure the products I used were moisturizing and would help me get a great finish in the hair”.

HOW TO: I first started by blow-drying Kristen's hair with KMS Free Shape 2-in-1 Leave In from roots to ends, which acts like a great heat styler and adds moisture. Then I layered KMS Add Volume Volumizing Spray on the roots.  Once the hair was prepped I rough-dried it using just my hands no round brush.  Once it was 100% dried I put in a deep side part.  Once the side part was determined I took sections of hair on the top front section and curled it around a 1 1/4 in curling iron and pinned to cool and set. After about 10 minutes, I took the hair down and brushed with a Mason Pearson brush into a gorgeous wave and used the KMS Hair Play Wax to smooth out the waves, the wax was perfect because its not too heavy or greasy.  On the sides I pulled it back into a French braid and half way down started to change it into a fish tail. Once the braid was finished I sprayed KMS Hair Stay Maximum Hold Spray and pulled the braid out to give it an undone feel that I love.

Maggie Q – Inspiration:  “The Zac Posen dress she chose had such great volume and drama on the bottom and was nice a sleek with a great high neckline, that I immediately started pulling from Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly. I wanted a classic updo but with a very modern twist”.

HOW TO: Maggie has great thick hair so I wanted to start by giving her a great blow out as a base.  I sprayed Rene Furterer Volumizing Root Boost Spray and started my round brush blow-dry using boar bristle brush. The boar bristles gives great shine and luster to the hair.  Once Maggie's blow-dry was finished I put in a clean center part, and used Rene Furterer Sculpting Gel to smooth and slick her hair into a low ponytail. To clean it up any extra fly-aways I rubbed a little Rene Furterer Style Wax into my hands to heat it up and ran it over the top and sides.  To start the bun, I teased the ponytail to make it big and followed it by smoothing the top section only, using my Mason Pearson brush.  Then I wrapped the ends under and created a bun in the shape of a half moon, using large bobby pins to secure it into place making sure I crisscrossed the pins for the most amount of hold. Once the bun was secure I sprayed Rene Furterer Vegetal Finishing Spray and shaped the bun into the final shape.

Jennifer Garner 2014 SAG Awards ‘Adir A-do’: How to get the look exclusive

    Christopher Polk/Getty
Jennifer Garner looked classically stunning, from head-to-toe, at the 20th Annual SAG Awards held Saturday, Jan. 18 in Los Angeles. The 41-year-old actress was nominated for the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture award for “Dallas Buyers Club,” which went to the cast of “American Hustle”.

Although she didn’t win, Jennifer served as presenter for the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role, which went to her “Dallas Buyers Club” co-star Jared Leto. Rarely one to make a misstep on the Red Carpet, last night was no different as Jennifer wore a strapless, navy silk bustier Max Mara custom gown and Brian Atwood shoes that were accented with a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch and David Webb jewelry.

Jennifer’s longtime stylist AdirAbergel, and TME favorite, whipped up yet another amazing “Adir A-do”. Adir shares that his inspiration for the look was, “An airy romantic updo with texture and movement … a modern and fresh style glamorously swept off the face to elongate the neck”.

Adir started the hairstyle by spraying Oribe Maximista Thickening Spray all over Jennifer’s hair to create a rougher texture to the hair and to help keep Jennifer’s bangs back off her face. Adir then rough-dried the hair until it was completely dry and took random sections and curled them with a 1/2-inch iron in “no particular direction,” to create a romantic texture.

Once the texture was applied, he rubbed Kusco Murphy Lavender Cream into his palms like a hand cream and swept it through her hair to get it to stay back. When recreating the look, Adir said, “To secure in place, begin by pinning both sides of the hair back right below the crown and then continued to secure sections below in a knotted fashion. Once all sections are knotted and secured resulting in a beautiful shape, finish with Fekkai Sheer Hold Hair Spray to hold the style in place. Who Had The Hottest Hair and Makeup at the Golden Globes? Get The Looks!

Sofia Vergara (L to R) Steven Granitz - Jason Merritt/Getty
Hollywood’s A-list celebrities turned out for the 71st Annual Golden Globes Awards Sunday, Jan. 12. The theme for the award’s show beauty was, as predicted, understated glamour. From Sofia Vergara’s simple and classic makeup to Gwyneth Paltrow’s soft and romantic up-do and Amber Heard’s structured and dramatic updo to Taylor Schilling’s “Old Hollywood” glam makeup, The Makeup Examiner gathered her favorite looks from the evening and got the exclusive how-tos. Top Celebrity Makeup Artist, Monika Blunder and Celebrity Hairstylist Adir Abergel and even Sofia Vergara herself … who opted to do her own makeup … dish on last night’s golden looks from the Golden Globes. Read on and find your favorite look!

Sofia Vergara was absolutely stunning on the Golden Globes red carpet rocking a voluminous Zac Posen black dress and a serious statement necklace. Sofia shared a complete breakdown of the bombshell’s beauty look from a rare, new perspective -- her own!
For this year's Golden Globes, I really wanted to do something different. I wear makeup every day -- I wouldn't think about leaving the house without it! But of course it's such a big night, and everyone is taking pictures, so I have to look good. With my dress so elegant and my necklace so bold (and heavy!), I wanted to keep my hair and makeup simple and classic. To start off with a good base that would last all night, I started with CoverGirl truBLEND Foundation in M6, which is super lightweight and blendable. On top, a light dusting of powder to set the look and a bit of rosy color for the apples of my cheeks with Clean Glow Blush in Roses. My dress and jewels were the center of attention, so I had to balance my hair and makeup. For me, a really glamorous evening look starts with the eyes. I love the drama of a cat eye. I went with brown liner as opposed to black with Bombshell Liner in Chocolate Kiss to create the look. I then used Bombshell Shine Shadow in Gold Goddess to give my eyes a little sparkle. As always, I LOVE big lashes so I used Bombshell Volume Mascara on my top and bottom lashes to add volume and intensity. For me, lipstick is a must -- I feel naked without it. I wish I could just wear a nude shade, but it's not me, I need color. I went with a bold red with LipPerfection Lip Color in Flame. Oh I also always keep a gloss in my purse for touch-ups!
Gwyneth Paltrow and Amber Heard were lucky recipients of an Adir A-Do! Although very opposite inspirations and styles, both women looked stunning. Adir shared that the inspiration for Gwyneth’s look was “A soft romantic updo inspired by the casual and effortless elegance of a French woman”. While Amber, dressed in Versace, was coiffed with a structured and dramatic updo “inspired by Catherine Deneuve”.

Gwyneth Paltrow Inspiration: A soft romantic updo inspired by the casual and effortless elegance of a French woman.

How To Get Gwyneth’s Look by Adir Abergel

    1. Begin by parting hair in a strong middle part and applying Oribe Maximista at the roots.
    2. Blow dry hair straight with a round brush to create a full beautiful blowout that feels soft.
    3. Once hair is completely dry, take two sections in the very front of the hair and create a slight wave with a curling iron.
    4. Next pull the hair back into a low ponytail and twist it into a deconstructed bun.
    5. Pin and secure in place
    6. Finish with Fekkai Sheer Hold Hair Spray to secure any fly-aways and for added sheen.
Amber Heard - Courtesy of Adir Abergel
Amber Heard Inspiration: A soft and structured dramatic updo inspired by Catherine Deneuve.

    How To Get Amber’s Look

    1. Apply Oribe Maximista to create the perfect foundation for a full and sexy updo. This is an important process in building the right structure.
    2. Next rough dry hair until it’s completely dry.
    3. Once the hair is dry, use a 1-inch barrel curling iron to create soft and feminine waves throughout the hair.
    4. Use a fine tooth comb and tease the roots to create the desired fullness.
    5. Once hair has the desired height, pull it back into a bun right below the crown. The key to this look is that has a light airiness to the style and feel undone.
    6. Secure with pins and finish with Fekkai Sheer Hold Hair Spray.
    7. If you need to manipulate the shape, loosely pull a few pieces to make the style bigger or smaller.
Taylor Schilling - Courtesy of Chantecaille
For the 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards, "Orange is the New Black nominee," Taylor Schilling was seen on the red carpet in a subtle shimmery eye and berry lip, wearing exclusively Chantecaille products. To complement Taylor’s custom Thakoon emerald green floor length gown, Monika created a modern and effortless look. Celebrity Makeup Artist, Monika Blunder created the modern look for Taylor.

Taylor Schilling Inspiration: A cross between Elizabeth Taylor in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof meets Veronica Lake and Chantecaille products.

How To Get Taylor’s Look from Monika Blunder:
    1. I started by spraying the skin with Pure Rosewater then applied Stress Repair Concentrate around the eyes, for a clean base.
    2. Next I applied a very light base of Future Skin Foundation. I wanted the skin to be a bit luminous and have her natural complexion shine through.
    3. I used Total Concealer under her eyes to brighten them a bit.
    4. I began the eyes by applying Iridescent Eye Shade in Crystal all over the lid, then proceeded by using Iridescent Eye Shade in Sel through the crease-and sweeping it into the outer corners and under the eye. To deepen the contrast in the crease, I wet my brush and took the color back through to intensify the look.
    5. For liner I started with Gel Liner in Jet. To thicken the look along the lash line I dabbed the pencil between lashes, along the edge of the lid.
    6. Next I double lined the eye with Le Stylo in Black.
    7. I then curled the lashes and used three coats of Faux Cils Mascara in Black.
    8. To sculpt the face I applied Compact Soliel in St Barth’s in the hallows of her cheeks and onto her temples and hairline.
    9. To add a bit of color to the cheeks I applied Cheek Shade in Laughter and finished with Les Petales de Rose to illuminate.
    10. I defined the brows, just slightly, with the Brow Definer in Ash Blonde.
    11. To achieve the deep berry lip, it’s all about the application. I wanted it to look like it had a natural bitten flush, so I used my pointer finger and pushed Lip Chic in Calla Lily onto the lip without a brush.

    Who had your favorite look?

Elizabeth Banks Gets An Adir ‘Ado’ For The ‘Hunger Games’ Premiere

Elizabeth Banks (L to R) Jason Merritt/Getty Images and Steve Granitz/WireImage
The Los Angels premiere of the “Hunger Games: Catching Fire” took place last night, Nov. 18 and among the A-list stars in attendance was Elizabeth Banks. Elizabeth, dressed in a figure-fitting Versace gown with a plunging neckline, certainly gave the movie’s leading lady, JLaw, a run for her money!

Elizabeth completed her stunning look with a pair of Jimmy Choo’s, a Jennifer Fisher ring, a Rauwolf clutch, a Jennifer Fisher ring … and a voluminous undone bombshell blow-out by THE Red Carpet Hair Stylist, Adir Abergel. In a TME exclusive, Adir shares the how-to for Elizabeth’s sexy look.

Adir was inspired by the early 2000's Versace campaigns with Amber Valetta shot by Steven Misel. He loved the lines of this dress and wanted to bring out the same sexiness to the hair. Sexy, smooth, curves was the true inspiration for the hair.

    How To Get The Look:

    1. Adir started out by applying Argan rejuvenating hair treatment from mid shaft to the ends to help with shine and smoothness.
    2. He followed by applying J.F Lazartigue Hair Volume Tonic all over the roots to help with movement and bounce and parted the hair in a deep side part.

Who got an Adir ‘A-do’ at the Emmys and how you can get the look

By now, most beautynistas expect that if there’s an awards show, Adir Abergel will be creating a style for one or more lovely ladies walking the red carpet. Of course the Sunday, Sep. 22 Emmy’s were no exception with both Julianna Margulies, 47, and Aubrey Plaza, 29, red carpet coifs styled by the renowned red carpet hair stylist himself.

Julianna Margulies, star of “The Good Wife,” served as a presenter at the 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. Julianna arrived on the red carpet in a custom Reed Krakoff dress (similar in inspiration to one from the S/S 2014 collection) that was understated elegance and for which Adir drew inspiration for Julianna’s red carpet look.

Aubrey Plaza, “Parks and Recreation,” arrived on the carpet in a long-sleeved Marios Schwab gown. The gown, black lace and a bejeweled high neck, was defiantly a “love it or hate it” choice. By the way beautynistas, both Aubrey and Julianna just made the Refinery29 Best Dressed List. Personally, The Makeup Examiner wasn’t loving Aubrey’s gown, but her hair was lovely! Aubrey’s hair was slightly reminiscent of Maria Sharapova’s coif for the ESPY’s.

Are you ready for Julianna Margulies Emmy “how-to” by Adir Abergel? Adir drew inspiration from the modern simplicity and clean lines of Julianna’s dress by creating a sleek low ponytail that was accented with a several side swept bang.

    How To Get The Look:

Jennifer and Reese styled by Adir Abergel at TIFF: How to get the look

Jennifer Garner and Reese Witherspoon worked the red carpet on Sep. 7 and Sep. 8 at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Each actress present, at this past weekend’s festival, to promote different films. And both women looking completely stunning with coifs by a name that has become tantamount with amazing red carpet looks … Adir Abergel. In a TME exclusive, Adir shares with readers just how to get Jennifer and Reese’s fabulous fall/winter 2013 hairstyles from the TIFF red carpet.

Jennifer Garner attended the premiere of “Dallas Buyers Club” on Sep. 7 with co-stars Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto (Anyone else wonder why 41-year-old Leto hasn’t aged since 1994? The Makeup Examiner wants to see one, just one, wrinkle on his face!). Despite that Leto looked scrumptious as always, Garner stole the spotlight in red lace Dolce & Gabbana. Adir shares that he drew inspiration from the shape of Jennifer’s dress and wanted to compliment it by creating a simple side swept sixties inspired updo.

Oscar winning actress, Reese Witherspoon was in attendance at TIFF on Sep. 8, for the premiere of “Devils Knot,” with dapper co-star Colin Firth. Reese’s sexy Jason Wu dress was as criminal as the real-life crime drama that the pair were promoting. And again Adir drew style inspiration from the celeb’s dress, particularly the alluring neckline. Adir created a modern sleek look with a side swept bang to complete Reese’s look.

Are you ready for the inside scoop on how to obtain these elegant, sultry hairstyles from the Toronto International Film Festival for Fall/Winter 2013?

How to get Jennifer Garner’s 2013 TIFF look:

    1. Begin applying root volumizer all over the roots and blow-dry the hair with a round brush to create a smooth texture.
    2. Once completely dry and smooth, create some height at the crown by backcombing.
    3. Next, pull all the hair into a half updo leaving the bangs and the few layers around the face loose.
    4. Take sections from ear to ear, twist into the updo and secure with bobbi pins.
    5. Tuck the rest of the hair under so it sits like a low chignon.
    6. Finish the look with strong hold spray.

How to get Reese Witherspoon’s 2013 TIFF look:

    1. Begin by applying root volumizer followed by applying Moroccan oil to ends only.
    2. Part the hair in a deep side part making sure to follow the highest part of the crown arch for an accurate part.
    3. Use a medium-sized round brush to blow-dry the hair and put each section in a medium Velcro roller going away from the face.
    4. Spray the head to lock in the bounce and curl to the hair.
    5. Remove the Velcro rollers once hair is cool and define the deep side part again.
    6. Lightly brush out the set as to not flatten the curl.
    7. To finish the look, twist the bottom section of hair over to one side and pin it into place. Make certain to keep the twist at the nape of the neck and that it’s close to the head for a modern and clean effect.
