NARS Cosmetics Announces Tilda Swinton As The Face For Spring 2015 Campaign



NARS Cosmetics announced today, Oct. 17, that Scottish actress Tilda Swinton, 53, will be the face of its Spring 2015 campaigns. The campaign imagery features the iconic actress in a series of four portraits photographed by Founder and Creative Director, François Nars.

Nars, known for his ingenious and rule-breaking approach to makeup, chose Tilda Swinton for her signature beauty and unparalleled character. This is not the first time that François Nars had chosen a less then convention face for the brand. Tapping 68-year-old British actress, Charlotte Rampling in February of this year, Nars proves that beauty -- true beauty -- is timeless.

“As a photographer, working with an actress like Tilda is very enjoyable,” said Nars.  “She is a living legend. I love her bold style and really admire her work. As an actress, she brings such strong personality to the camera. And as a woman, she lives the experience of transformation and expression. She was the perfect choice for NARS.”

NARS Cosmetics and Barneys New York celebrated NARS’ 20th Anniversary on Thursday, September 4, with an exclusive exhibition and cocktail event for Founder and Creative Director François Nars hosted by Linda Evangelista, Fabien Baron and Simon Doonan.

NARS Celebrates 20th Anniversary Of Audacious Lipstick Collection




NARS Founder and Creative Director François Nars launched his namesake brand with a collection of 12 lipsticks. Now, in celebration of its 20th Anniversary, NARS pays tribute to its beginnings with the launch of The Audacious Lipstick Collection: lipsticks intended to be so shamelessly seductive in touch and texture, the sensation is absolutely audacious.

The innovative, pigment-rich formula delivers an intense, full-coverage finish in a single stroke, while nutrient rich ingredients are known to smooth, moisturize and volumize. This 40-shade collection ($32 each) features a full range of hues from neutral nudes to striking reds and bold pinks. Housed in a modern, matte-black metallic case with a magnetic closure, the specially designed sculpted bullet is embossed with the NARS logo.

NARS announced today, March 13, the launch of two fabulous new products for Spring 2014. NARS Contour Blush and a 16-piece Artistry Brush Collection will be added to the brand’s extensive lineup of must-have products for the season.

Contour Blush ($42) is the ultimate essential in makeup artistry and the secret weapon to creating natural-looking definition with a luminous finish. The blush duo, available in three sets, features a lighter shade to illuminate the highpoints of the face and a deeper shade to enhance definition. Ultra-smooth, lightweight texture lends itself to a luminous finish and the specially designed contouring formula visual depth and dimension in a single swipe.

        NARS Cosmetics Announces New Face For Brand

        NAR Cosmetics announced today, Feb. 26 that Charlotte Rampling will be the new face for the brand. With the choice of Ms. Rampling, NARS founder, François Nars proves yet again that he is far from a conventional thinker.

        Charlotte Rampling is a 68-year-old British actress, most recently scene in the last season of “Dexter,” and according to The Telegraph, she hasn’t fronted a campaign since the 1970s. But, that isn’t exactly correct, as Marc Jacobs made Charlotte the face for his Spring 2004 ad campaign.

        Nars’ explained his choice to have Charlotte Rampling as his brand’s face to WWD. “Charlotte's ability of transformation is unparalleled. Whether captured in pieces of artwork, through the lens of a magazine photographer or on film and the big screen, she had an amazing power to encompass a character,” said Nars.

        NARS Cosmetics is set to celebrate its 20th Anniversary this September and Charlotte Rampling will be the face that represents this unique cosmetics house. François Nars will oversee the entire campaign, right down to the photography, and while there are no photos of the campaign yet, they are sure to be stunning.

        LOOK: "The makeup look was really inspired by the collection, which is very "matte." There's nothing too silky and I wanted that to translate to the makeup. The models look like mannequins. The eyelid is a pale neutral grey and we made it look bigger by foregoing mascara. The lips have a touch of frosted metallic silver. We used a lot of powder for a matte, porcelain finish."
